HarvestHub
This platform manages warehouse operations for agricultural co-operatives and storage companies. It covers rack-level stock tracking via barcode scanning, condition monitoring, and billing for storage services across multiple sites.
The problem
Warehouse directors and operations managers across European agricultural co-operatives and storage companies face a common struggle: inventory exists only in spreadsheets with no single source of truth, quality problems with storage conditions such as temperature swings or humidity are discovered only after goods have already spoiled, and storage fees for members and external depositors must be calculated and invoiced entirely by hand. These gaps leave operators struggling to document lot history for auditors, vulnerable to loss events, and burdened by manual work that scales poorly as sites grow or merge.
The product
HarvestHub is a web and mobile platform that brings warehouse operations under one system. Warehouse staff scan barcodes when goods move in, out, or between locations using a mobile PWA. The system organizes stock by site, room, rack and bin, records each lot with unique identifiers including moisture and grade, logs all movements in real time, and ingests temperature and humidity data directly from sensors with immediate alerts when readings drift outside safe thresholds. It generates storage receipts and VAT-ready invoices from configurable rules, tracks spoilage patterns over time, and gives managers a single dashboard view across multiple warehouse sites.
What it does
Warehouse & location model
The system organizes warehouse space by site, room, rack and bin, with real-time capacity tracking across all levels.
Stock movements & scanning
Staff use mobile devices or the PWA to scan barcodes or QR codes when goods move in, out or between warehouse locations.
Lots & quality records
Each lot receives a unique identifier with records of moisture level, grade, the owner (whether a member or external depositor) and all supporting documents.
Storage receipts & billing
The system generates warehouse receipts for depositors, calculates storage fees using configurable rules, and produces VAT-ready invoices.
Condition monitoring
Temperature and humidity readings from connected sensors flow automatically into the system; it alerts staff to readings outside your thresholds and maintains a log of all excursions.
Multi-site consolidation
Users see and report on stock levels and transfers across multiple warehouse sites from a single dashboard view.
Problems it solves
- Stock counts exist only in spreadsheets with no single source of truth, and mismatches between the records kept at different sites are common.
- Problems with storage conditions—temperature swings, humidity, contamination—are often discovered only after goods have already been lost or spoiled.
- Storage fees for members and depositors must be calculated and invoiced manually, a process that is both error-prone and labour-intensive.
- Lot history is fragmented and incomplete, making it difficult to satisfy auditors or provide customers with a clear record of their stored goods.
Standards it follows
- The system supports food-traceability record-keeping as required by EU regulations.
- Where frozen goods are stored, temperature recording is legally required under Reg. (EC) 37/2005, though this requirement applies to quick-frozen foods only.
- The invoicing module meets the requirements of the E-invoicing direction.
