CarbonField
CarbonField manages monitoring, reporting, and verification for carbon-farming projects by organizing practice records, sampling workflows, and evidence uploads. Verifiers gain secure access to results aligned to each parcel and certification-scheme requirements.
The problem
Carbon-farming programme operators in Europe face growing pressure to demonstrate the integrity of their sustainability claims. Farms struggle to collect comprehensive evidence of their practices, and verifiers increasingly demand auditable records to validate claims. Uncertainty about what the carbon-farming methodology requires creates significant compliance risks for programme managers. The documentation and evidence burden falls on both farmers and programme staff, making it difficult to enrol new participants and scale operations.
The product
CarbonField organises carbon-farming monitoring, reporting, and verification by giving farmers a platform to log seasonal practices such as cover crops, soil amendments, and tillage changes with supporting photos and field notes. A sampling workflow designs collection plans aligned to the chosen methodology and tracks results from participating labs. Verifiers gain secure access to parcel files with a complete audit trail, while the system generates farmer statements and exports data in formats required by your certification scheme. The platform integrates satellite-derived indicators as supporting signals to supplement field evidence.
What it does
Programme & parcel registry
The registry module establishes farms and parcels, captures baseline data and land history, and records farmer consent and programme enrolment.
Practice records
Farmers log seasonal practices such as cover crops, tillage changes, and soil amendments with supporting evidence: photos, invoices, or field notes.
Sampling workflow
The system designs sampling plans aligned to the chosen methodology, tracks sample collection across parcels and seasons, and imports results from participating labs.
Remote-sensing evidence
Satellite-derived indicators for vegetation cover and tillage changes are drawn from open data sources and clearly labelled so verifiers see them as supporting signals, not measurements.
Verifier portal
Verifiers can access, read, and annotate parcel files, flag findings, and see a complete audit trail of all submissions and changes.
Certification-scheme export
The system exports activity logs, monitoring plans, and final results in formats required by your chosen certification scheme.
Problems it solves
- Farms struggle to collect comprehensive evidence of their carbon-farming practices.
- Uncertainty about what the carbon-farming methodology requires creates compliance risks.
- Verifiers increasingly request auditable records to validate practice claims.
- Farmers face significant reporting and documentation burden when submitting evidence.
Standards it follows
- Reg. (EU) 2024/3012 establishes a voluntary carbon-farming framework with four quality criteria. Operators must submit plans to a recognised scheme. Carbon-farming methodologies were adopted in 2026.
